Originally placed on heated brick platforms known as kang, these low wooden tables served both practical and social purposes - holding tea sets, books, or meals while families gathered around them for warmth and conversation.
Today, these tables carry with them a deep sense of history. Each one is unique, shaped by decades - sometimes centuries - of use, repair, and regional craftsmanship. Time has left its marks in the form of worn edges, faded lacquer, and hand-carved details smoothed by countless hands. No two are alike, and that’s precisely their charm.
